Overview

Taif is located less than 100 kilometers from Makkah but at 1800 meters of altitude, in a valley on the eastern side of the Hejaz mountains. The millennia-old city lays at the crossroads of two of the most important historical roads of the Arabian Peninsula: the frankincense road that originated in Yemen more than 3000 years ago, and the pilgrimage road to Makkah whose Ka'aba was already a place of worshiping before the advent of Islam and which hosts today the largest pilgrimage in the world.

This is the first big mall in Taif city. Good for ladies and girls shopping!! it has Panda supermarket, extra electronic store, food court and of course multiple shops in it Initially bachelors were not allowed. But now with the passage of time and coz more malls have been opened in Taif

Shafa Mountains
Al Shafa, 25km southwest of Taif, is the highest mountain in the region and is accessed by paved roads. The 10,000-sq-metre Daka Mountain Park sits on the peak and offers stunning views over the local mountain range. The area's popularity means visitors can now ride camels, 4WD sand buggies and dine on a host of street food. There are also terraces for barbecues and picnics, and for those that want to stay a little longer, several basic resorts.

Shubra Palace
The city’s museum occupies a beautiful house built in 1905 on the orders of Sharif Ali Pasha. The palace is the most stunning vestige of old Taif, with latticework windows and balconies, and interior marble from Carrara. King Abdul Aziz used to stay here, and the palace was later the residence of King Faisal.
